Agility
Agility has two types of titles as well as two levels of competition. This results in four
sets of titles.

Standard agility is a course made up of jumps and the contact obstacles - A-frame, dog
walk, see-saw, etc. There are jump height divisions with the lowest jumps being 8 inches,
then progressing upward in 4-inch increments to a maximum of 24 inches. A dog's height
at the withers determines which jump height division they are eligible to compete at. Titles
for standard agility are
Novice Agility (NA), Open Agility (OA), Agility Excellent
(AX), Master Agility Excellent (MX)
and Master Agility Champion (MACH).

Jumpers With Weaves (JWW) agility is essentially just that - a course made up almost
exclusively of jumps with a set of weave poles included in the course. A tunnel is also
permitted. Jump height categories are the same as for standard agility. Titles for Jumpers
With Weaves are
Novice JWW (NAJ), Open JWW (OAJ), Excellent JWW (AXJ) and
Master Excellent JWW (MXJ).

Preferred agility is exactly the same as standard and JWW as above, except that dogs jump
one height division lower than they would for a regular course. Dogs competing in
preferred agility are not eligible for a MACH title. Preferred titles are the same as listed
above with the exception of a "P" added at the end - so the corresponding preferred titles
would be
NAP, OAP, AXP, MXP, NAJP, OAJP, AXJP and MXJP.

All dogs start at the Novice level for each of the four categories. Novice and Excellent
are divided into A and B classes. Novice A is only for dogs who have never earned an
agility title for that type of agility (standard or JWW). Excellent A is for dogs who are
working on obtaining the Excellent level titles, Excellent B is for dogs who have earned
those titles and are continuing on in pursuit of Masters and OTCH titles. Three qualifying
scores are needed at the Novice, Open and Excellent levels to obtain each title. A higher
level title will replace a previous title added to the dog's registered name. In order to
obtain the Master level titles, a total of 10 qualifying scores must be earned from the
Excellent B class.

To obtain the MACH title, a dog must achieve a minimum of 750 championship points and
20 double qualifying scores obtained from the Excellent B Standard Agility class and the
Excellent B Jumpers With Weaves class. A double qualifying score (QQ) is earned when
the dog qualifies in both Standard and JWW Excellent B classes at the same trial.

Points toward the MACH title are earned as folllows:
One point for each full second under standard course time.
Points are earned from Ex B Agility and/or Ex B JWW classes.
Dogs placing first in their class double their championship points.
Dogs placing second in their class receive 1.5 times their standard MACH points.
